Mitchell’s New Police Chief

Mitchell, Nebraska, has appointed Matthew Holcomb as its new Chief of Police.  Chief Holcomb was previously with the Scotts Bluff County Sheriff’s Office.

Omaha Airport Authority’s New Police Chief

Omaha Airport Authority (Eppley Airport), has promoted Kenneth Kanger to Chief of Police.  Previous to the Omaha Airport Authority, Chief Kanger was a Deputy Chief with the Omaha Police Department.

Neligh’s New Police Chief

Neligh, Nebraska, has promoted Logan Lawson to Chief of Police.  Chief Lawson was also with the Antelope County Sheriff’s Office.

David City Restarts Its Police Department

David City, Nebraska, has decided to restart its police department and has hired Marla Schnell as its Chief of Police.  Chief Schnell was previously with the Butler County Sheriff’s Office, Polk County Sheriff’s Office and the Polk Police Department.

Oakland Police Chief Vacancy

The City of Oakland, Nebraska is now taking applications for the position of Police Chief. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age, have no felony or serious misdemeanor convictions, hold a Nebraska Law Enforcement certification, hold a Nebraska Law Enforcement Management certification or be able to complete the class successfully, a valid Nebraska driver’s license and be willing to relocate to Oakland, Nebraska. The City of Oakland will provide, full family insurance, retirement package, paid vacation, paid uniform allowance, paid training, take home vehicle, with a starting pay range $26.00 to $30.00 per hour. New PCAN Region 2 Director

Don Miller, Norfolk Chief of Police has been elected and appointed Region 2 Director for the Police Chiefs Association of Nebraska.  Chief Miller replaces Bryan Waugh who recently was named PCAN’s President.

Lyon’s New Police Chief

Lyons, Nebraska, has promoted Bryan Dunn to police chief.  Chief Dunn has been with the Lyons Police Department for several years along with being a part-time officer with the Decatur Police Department.  Chief Dunn began his law enforcement career with the Thurston County Sheriffs Office and also has worked for the Oakland Police Department.

Scotia Police Chief Vacancy

The Village of Scotia, Nebraska is currently accepting applications for the position of Police Chief. The position is for approximately fifty hours a month, pay of thirty dollars per hour, patrol unit provided. Grand Island’s New Police Chief

The Grand Island, Nebraska, City Council has approved the hiring of Kevin Denney as its new police chief.  Chief Denney was previously the chief in Jarrell, Texas and replaces longtime Grand Island police department officer, supervisor and chief, Robert Falldorf.
